Got on the newspaper!

I was told by my friends that my name was mentioned in the Saturday issue of the Inquirer after our overtime win against St. Louis College. Awesome.

THE PAREF Springdale Titans survived some scary moments before coming up with a 60-54 overtime win over the St. Louis College-Cebu Cardinals in the first Private Schools Developmental League late Thursday night at the PAREF Springdale basketball court in Lahug.
The win was their second in a row and it put them at the top of the standings in the high school division with a 2-0 (win-loss) mark.
The win would not have happened if not for the clutch shooting of Zach Go, who was inserted into the game in the fourth period inspite of a leg injury. Go responded by stabilizing his squad after they lost a lead that went as high as 12.
The Titans dominated in the early goings behind the quarterbacking of twos-sport star Juan Antonio Carcel and the shooting of lefty Alfredo Relucio.
Burly center Roy Villegas tallied 14 to lead the Titans while Benedict Tibon and Ivan Dabon had 14 and 10, respectively, for the Cardinals.
The PSDL games continue today with matches being held at the same venue. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio

Congrats Paul Pierce!

Paul Pierce has just recently passed Larry Bird as 2nd all time on the Boston Celtics' scoring list. He hit a 3-pointer with 10:23 remaining in the 3rd Quarter against the Bobcats. He finished with a near triple-double with 15 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds.

He has been the driving force in the Celtics resurgence as of late and even after all these years, still plays at a very high level. He has also been selected as an All-Star this year. Congrats PP!

Lin-sanity

In his last 3 games, Jeremy Lin has put on a show for Knicks fans and Chinese fans too. With Yao Ming retiring, Chinese fans have now found a new team to follow because of Lin's spectacular play as of late.

In his last 3 games he recorded:

25, 5 rebounds, 7 assists vs NJN

28 points, 8 assists vs UTA

23 points, 10 assists vs WAS

Knicks fans have something to cheer about despite their disappointing season so far. With Melo and Amar'e struggling, Lin has stepped up and carried the load for the team. It's also nice to see a kid from Harvard do well in the NBA.

Oh and myself being Chinese, this now kind of applies:

Earthquake

An earthquake hit the Negros- Cebu region yesterday with a magnitude of 6.8
Which meant no practice because we couldn't use the gym because the school wanted to check if the structure was stable.

Nothing Islander Tsinelas couldn't handle. These things are used to playing on rough terrain.
